B21 Environmental Indices
  • 1 EEDI

The numerical value of the EEDI index (Energy Efficiency Design Index) which represents the equivalent amount of Carbon Dioxide that a ship emits as a whole, relative to the cargo carried and distance travelled.

  • 2 EEXI

The numerical value of the EEXI index (Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index) which represents the equivalent amount of Carbon Dioxide that a ship emits as a whole, relative to the cargo carried and distance travelled.

  • 3 CII

The alphabetical value of the CII index (Carbon Intensity Indicator) which represents how efficiently a ship transports goods or passengers (the letter grade is relative to the grams of carbon dioxide emitted per cargo-carrying capacity and nautical mile).

  • 4 ESI

The value of the ESI index (Environmental Ship Index) which represents performance of a vessel in minimising emissions of Nitrous Oxide, Carbon Dioxide and Sulphur.

  • 5 EIV

The numerical value of the EIV index (Estimated Index Values) which is a measure of the design efficiency of ships in relation to emissions.

  • 6 Undefined

A scheme of unknown type, or one which does not match any of the previous descriptions.
